It has been 12 days since I married the love of my life. The day was perfect but I could not figure out where to start to blog about it. I have decided I will start from the beginning. The night before the wedding.
Well, let’s go a little further than that. Tobei once shared a story from me from his childhood. Christmas was coming and all he wanted was a Yo-Yo. He told Santa this and anyone who would listen. Christmas came and there was no yo-yo under the tree. The next year he was still insistent that all he wanted was a yo-yo. Lucky for him that Christmas a yo-yo showed up for him. It was a plastic yo-yo though and not a real one.
A few weeks before the wedding I was searching Etsy for gifts for the best man and man of honour (yes I had a man of honour instead of a maid of honour). I stumbled on to an Etsy store called My Personal Memories and what did I see in her store. A REAL YOYO! One that was silver and could be personalized.
I called up my mom and explained the story from Tobei’s childhood and asked if I would be a complete dork if I bought him this. She told me no and that I absolutely had to buy it. So I did. I got his name and our wedding date engraved on it.
The plan was to have him open it the morning of our wedding. I decided though that I wanted to be there when he opened it. So on the Friday night before I left to go stay at the hotel I handed him a gift bag with the yo-yo inside. The second he opened it he knew exactly why he was getting a yo-yo.
He loved his gift and had it on him the next day when we got married. Not only did I give him children and my love but I got him the one gift he always wanted as a child, a yo-yo.
