Just like Monday Mingle it has been forever since I participated in Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop. So I thought I would give it a go again. Especially since it is so fitting.
The prompt: If the way you spent your New Year’s Eve is any indication of how the rest of the year will go, how would you say your future is looking right about now?
I had a few bad years. 2009 was especially a bad one filled with court proceedings but actually ended on a fantastic note with me getting custody of my son. Then came 2010 and you could say that the shit hit the fan. January my stepmother’s father passed away. February saw things happen that I still have not figured out how to tell the story on my blog. But let’s just say it was a difficult time. Then in March my Grandpa passed away. It sure wasn’t looking good. Also in March more things happened involving the February incident and I was having to deal with that situation at the same time as making funeral arrangements and attending my Grandpa’s funeral.
Things finally started to calm done in April and life has been quiet for us. *knock on wood* New Year’s Eve found us at Cheryl’s house. Our 2 families together having a quiet night in. It was fabulous. I could not have asked for a better time. Well unless they came here instead so we didn’t do all that boring driving. But still it was great. I really do hope it is an indication of what 2011 will hold for us. Peace, happiness and a normal life. All I can do is hope and wish. 2011 brings the chance of us moving and who knows where that may be. I really want to go home to Ottawa yet at the same time I love my home here. Work wise for Tobei though I rather go to Ottawa than stay here. Plus my mom is there and I need her to lean on. You see 2011 may also bring the beginning of the end of what happened in February. Only time will tell when the standstill will be over and the ball will start rolling. I am not looking forward to that time.
So here is too hoping that my future is quiet, peaceful and full of happiness just like my New Year’s Eve was.
