Well I learned a very valuable lesson today. The trash button in phpadmin does not work like the trash button in our e-mail. I was trying to delete a permalink and clicked on trash to delete it from trash. So I clicked on trash and then ok thinking it would delete the link from the trash button. Nope it deleted every post I ever made. All my content was gone. I wanted to cry. I panicked and I almost had a complete meltdown.
I quickly got myself back together and called my hosting company. She said exactly what I was not hoping to hear. The posts were gone. There was no window of oppurtunity to get it all back. The best we can do is restore from a backup. Well the last back up I have is from 2 weeks ago. Thankfully their server did an automatic back up yesterday. She could restore from that. However she warned me that everything from the past 24 hours would be gone and we could not get back. I told her that is better than having nothing and told her to go ahead with the server reset to yesterday.
Thankfully by the looks of it Nolie’s Reviews is still here. I was petrified that it would be gone. I did not want to rebuild an entire website. However my post from this morning is gone along with the comments on it. So readers no I did not delete your comments on purpose. I am sad they are gone. Also any other comments made on my site since yesterday are gone. So to the commenters who left your opinion on the reviews site I am sorry they are gone. I did appreciate them however.
I will be re-writing my post from this morning. Nothing else I can do but move on and be glad we were able to save everything prior to 24 hours again. A very valuable lesson learned. Do NOT mess around in phpadmin.
