Triskaidekaphobia (from Greek tris meaning “3”, kai meaning “and”, deka meaning “10” and phobos meaning “fear” or “morbid fear”) is fear of the number 13 and avoidance to use it; it is a superstition and related to a specific fear of Friday the 13th, called paraskevidekatriaphobia (from Παρασκευή Paraskevi, Greek for Friday) or friggatriskaidekaphobia (after Frigg, the Norse goddess Friday is named after in English). – Wikipedia
I will admit to being a pretty superstitious person. My biggest one being to knock on wood. Knocking on wood, or to touch wood, refers to the tradition in of literally touching/knocking on wood, or merely stating that you are doing or intend same, in order to avoid “tempting fate” after making a favourable observation, a boast, or declaration concerning one’s own death. – Wikipedia
I have even gone as far as crying and going into hysterics because Tobei would not “knock on wood” after he said something. I could not control the fear that came over me.
However Triskaidekaphobia is not a fear of mine. Ever since I was a kid I have said 13 was my lucky number. Friday the 13th was always a good day for me. I started looking forward to the day many people dread.
When 2013 hit I became giddy. Tobei and I had a rough few years. We were in need of some good news and I was hoping 2013 would bring it. Well it did. In 2013 we saw a criminal put in a guilty plea so I did not have to take the stand as a victim. We saw Tobei get to adopt Big Brother. We saw a lawsuit against us end up going our way. We found Tobei’s ex and got him the divorce 9 years in the making so we can finally get married.
All in all 2013 was a pretty darn good year for us. In a way I am sad to see it go but excited to see 2014 and finally marry my best-friend.
