We have all been there. That time when your baby is uber bitchy, tired, won’t sleep and you don’t know what to do besides pull your hair out.
That is where we have been the past few days every single evening. Tonight I escaped. This mom needed some time away. So I joined the women’s coffee night that the women in this community have every Thursday.
While I was out for this MUCH needed break I got a text message from my husband. This is my lovely husband who has been Mr. Mom for the past 7.5 months so taking care of baby is nothing new to him.
Tobei – OMG serious baby aggro* up in here. I can’t figure out what he wants. He just won’t stop wailing.
* Aggro is a jargon word in WoW, probably originally derived from the English words “aggravation” or “aggression”, and used since at least the 1960s in British slang. Source – WoWWiki
Me – Bum change, cereal, cuddles, swing, playpen, cold? I dunno. (Cold because it is much cooler tonight than it has been lately.
Tobei – He won’t take food, changed his butt, moved him to chair, swing, playpen and even get him his blankie. Thinking he is just tired.
Me – That’s why I said try cuddles.
10 Minutes Later
Tobei – Back at square one. He fell asleep in his crib with me stroking his chin. When I got downstairs he woke up.
Me –
5 Minutes Later
Tobei – I’ll stop bugging you, just realized your out to escape this. Love you
Me – Love You Too
When I got home baby was still awake and pissy. I changed his diaper which was barely wet and tried cuddling with him. He wanted to play instead yet kept rubbing his eyes. I got Tobei to try to put baby in his crib again and this time he fell asleep.
Tonight I claimed it was because baby wanted his mommy home. But the thing is this is EVERY night. Baby gets uber bitchy and we try everything under the sun then eventually one thing works and he falls asleep. That one thing is something different though every night.
I get it is probably cause he is over tired but the thing is even when we try to put him to bed if HE doesn’t want to sleep then he just freaks out until we go get him.
Help us out. How do we get this baby sleeping at a decent hour and in his crib.. Heck while we are at it how do we get him napping in his crib? What do you do when you got an uber bitchy tired cranky baby?
