So today we got to experience a first for our family. What a crazy experience it was. What was that first you ask? We went to sign Little Man up for swimming. No one ever warned me that registration for children’s activities would be such an experience. Oh wait I lie. My friend phoned me AFTER THE FACT and told me that it is always crazy and you should get their an hour and a half before registration actually opens. Little late for that piece of advice honey but thanks.
Registration started at 6. We left home at 5:30 thinking we would be early but at least not too early. Ya right. The room was packed when we got there at 5:40. It was crazy. People everywhere. I couldn’t believe it. Obviously I was not prepared for this sort of thing. First hint of that would be that we brought Little Man with us. Thankfully Tobei kept him entertained by bringing him around the gym to play. We were lucky though and did manage to get Little Man into the appropriate program for him. I wanted to try to squeeze him into a different one since he would be the proper age in 2 months however that program filled up about 10 people before it was my turn. So parents and tots it is.
This should be fun. I don’t do pools or bathing suits. I have told Tobei we now need to go buy me a one piece bathing suit so I can do this. All I have now is my maternity 2 piece and well my ladies don’t comfortably fit in there. Especially if I am going to be with an active almost 3 year old in a pool trying to get him to follow whatever it is we are going to be doing. So this should be a fun experience. At least now I have learned a very important lesson. To arrive 2 hours prior to registration opening if I want my son to have a shot at getting into the program.
