Much needed spa time for a pedicure

I am not going to lie. Lately I have been craving time away from the house. Though I love being a stay at home mom, Little Man can surely drive me up the wall and back down more times than I care to count in one day.

Last week my step-mom called me and wanted to treat me to an evening out at the spa. I jumped on it and it was wonderful.

We went this evening and got our pedicures. When we arrived at Serenity Spa they brought us to the lounge to relax for a few minutes. The lounge was so comfortable with nice big couches and a fireplace. There was also coffee, chai tea, fresh fruit and pastries to help ourselves to at no cost. I thought this was awesome.

My step-mom and I chatted for a bit and then it was time to go get our pedicures. Absolutely heavenly! The one thing I hate about going to the spa is the person treating you always thinks it is a bright idea to make small talk. I can’t stand it. I just want to enjoy my treatment in silence. I am a mom, silence is rare. I got smart this time and brought my book with me to read. The woman giving me my pedicure did not say one word to me. I enjoyed every minute of this much needed break.

I was going to come post about my pretty toys. They are very pretty don’t get me wrong but they aren’t perfect. I have nail polish on my skin and some spots my actual nail is not painted. It’s minor, I had to actually look up close to see it but it is still there. A little double check and a dab of a q-tip would have done wonders to make it perfect. One of my toes the nail polish is also bumpy. No clue how that happened considering it was a good 10 minutes before my toes were checked and I was told they were dry. Oh well from far away they look fantastic and I am more relaxed than I have been in a while.

I need to go to the spa more often. I forgot how much I love it and how relaxing it is. What do you do to relax? I would love to hear what others do and maybe try it myself.
