Growing up shopping at Giant Tiger and then at Wal-Mart when they came to Canada I was never one to venture into new stores. It just wasn’t something I did. Then about 2 years ago I was driving past Old Navy and saw a huge sale sign. I made Tobei park the car so we could go check it out. What a bad move. I am now addicted to the place.
It didn’t help that when I started shopping there at the bottom of the receipt there was always a link to fill out a survey and receive a discount on your next visit. After every shop I would go home and do the survey, then I would go running back to Old Navy the next week-end. It was a vicious cycle.
About 6 months ago I stopped shopping at Old Navy. I just didn’t need any new clothes. I did however go in once to buy a pair of jeans and then leave right away before I was tempted to buy anything else. Their jeans fit perfect. They are the only jeans that the “short” version actually fit and I do not have to get them hemmed.
Well today we were out shopping for maternity clothes and Thyme Maternity happens to be in the same shopping plaza as Old Navy. Little Man needed some new clothes and right now I refuse to buy him clothes from Wal-Mart. He is a size 3 in pants and 3T in shirts which makes buying the outfits impossible for a good fit. So I decided to go over to Old Navy and buy him some new pants and shirts, oh and a pair of shorts. What can I say. I have a shopping addiction.
While holy cow did Old Navy ever just suck me back in. As we go walking to the back of the store where all the clothes are for Little Man I saw the greatest sign ever. It was like the skies opened up and the sun shined on this sign to make sure I didn’t miss it. What did it say? It said MATERNITY!!!! Yes ladies and gentlemen today I discovered that Old Navy sells maternity clothes. I didn’t buy any shirts from Thyme Maternity because I didn’t like how they fit. I did walk out of Old Navy with 2 maternity shirts.
Once again I am sucked into Old Navy… somebody hide my bank card.
