Kids home for March Break or Spring Break as some people call it? Kids whining “I’m Bored”? Too cold to play outside? Not a problem! There are plenty of activities that can be done indoors over break. Check out this list of fun projects to do with your kids.
Get cooking!
Children often times love to get in on the cooking process in the kitchen. Of course that often times means more messes, but it also means that they will learn valuable skills and overall will have fun. Choose involved recipes, such as homemade pizzas where the creation of the food isn’t too difficult. You can even invite friends and family over for dinner made by your little chef(s).
Art show
Another way to keep the kids busy inside each day is to let them create an art show. Every day give them some supplies and let them make whatever comes to their mind with those materials. This is a fantastic way to use recycled items such as cardboard and cans. At the end of the week invite friends and family over for the “art show”. You can even make them dinner with the kids!
Reading challenge
If your children enjoy reading, set up a challenge for them the week of spring break. You can pick titles for them to read, or let them choose their own. Create a system where the more they read the larger the prize they will get. It will keep them busy and boost their reading skills.
Movie night
Movie night is fun for the whole family! You can watch movies that you already have or rent ones that you haven’t seen yet. Get together some movie snacks and candies and enjoy a night of laughing and having fun. You could even build a fort to watch your movies in!
Fashion show! And a good closet cleaning all in one!
Do your kid’s closets need a good cleaning? Old clothes that don’t fit need to be gone through? Have a fashion show! They can try on all of their clothes, in whichever combination they choose, and you’ll be able to see what fits and what doesn’t while they have fun. Add in some music and maybe even prizes for best dressed and best color choices.
