One of the very first blog communities I joined when I started my blog was The Lady Bloggers Society. I am very glad I found the site. It is full of women bloggers who are there for one another. The site offers great blogging tips and advice. They also have a tea party every Sunday which gives you an opportunity to explore other blogs and if you are listed in the directory you may have someone finding you as well. Their latest genius idea is a blogging workshop and that is why you are seeing this post.
The blogging workshop is for all bloggers new and experienced. It is designed to help you improve your blog and get it out there in internet world. Basically it will cover everything you need to know to have a successful blog. I love this idea. You can read more about it at Lady Bloggers Circle – Blogging Workshop. They do a much better job at explaining it then I do.
When I first received the e-mail about this workshop I was excited to take part. Then I saw the cost of it. Now $60 may not be much to some people. Well honestly for everything they say you will receive from this workshop I think it would be money well spent. Being new to blogging myself I know 100% that I could use the advice, tips and friends that come with it. However there is one small problem, ok a few. The main problem being I just convinced Tobei that it would be a fantastic idea to get my own site. So this week-end I spent the money for my domain and hosting package for the next year. No way could I convince him to let me spend more money on blogging. Add on top of that the fact that I am a SAHM with a growing two year old. Also on the week-end Tobei’s computer died. Now in order for me to be greedy and keep mine all to myself we had to go out and buy him a new computer. Needless to say our spending on hobby budget is spent at the moment. Today at lunch I mentioned the workshop to Tobei. I could tell from his reaction that it is highly unlikely he will let me ever pay for this workshop. Dammit it sometimes being a couple sucks. This would be such a great experience and I can not take part.
Well enough on my sad story and poor me. I hope it didn’t come across that way. I didn’t mean for it to, just wanted to explain why I can not take the workshop. Needless to say it was a sad day when I knew there was all this great help at my fingertips and I would not be able to use it. However then I received another e-mail from The Lady Bloggers. They are offering a scholarship to one lucky person. All you have to do is write a blog about the workshop telling them why you want to be a part of the workshop. So here it is. I hope I don’t come across as sounding pathetic. I hate sounding that way. That’s why I try to rant instead of whining.
