For the past 10 years, I have been a stay at home mom. Lucky me right? I know I have been very fortunate to have had this opportunity. On any given day you will find me in pyjama pants and a t-shirt. Yes, I am THAT mom who also picks her kids up from school dressed like that. Like I said I am a stay at home mom, not super mom (who by the way DOES NOT exist). If you get real lucky I will have yoga pants on or leggings. Kind of like I did this morning.
For me getting dressed up to go out means putting on jeans. Make-up does not exist in my home. I am your average stay at home mom. Nothing special about me except for my awesome pyjama wearing skills and the ability to always be able to find an elastic to put my hair up.
It is now time for Nolie to be someone besides a mom. Being a mom is not a bad thing but it doesn’t help pay the bills (well except saving on daycare costs) and it doesn’t give you a true identity. I have been buried under children and cartoons for way too long. Time to find a job.
Today I had my first job interview. Which led to the title of this blog post “You Know You Are a Stay At Home Mom When…….” Like I said I am not your mythical super mom. I am a legit everyday average stay at home mom. Today for the first time in YEARS I put on a business casual outfit. I did not realise how big of a deal it was until I came down the stairs and found Tobei waiting for me. Tobei was waiting to see his wife dressed up and out of her pyjamas.
