Keeping Everyone Fed When Baby Arrives

Every mother knows how exhausting pregnancy can be. Heck I think I slept for about 95% of mine. However that exhaustion is nothing compared to the exhaustion that comes after having a baby. Well that is if you are not super lucky like me since Tobei lets me sleep almost every night and takes on baby duty.

Not everyone is spoiled like me though so sometimes it can pay to think ahead. If you invest in food storage containers you can make the days after having baby a heck of a lot easier. Before baby arrives invite some helpful friends and family over and have a cooking party. Arm yourself with tons of recipes that would do well in long term food storage containers and get cooking. I bet in one day your cooking party can whip up more meals then you could imagine. Oh and make sure they are recipes that do well being frozen and heated up at a later date.

You may think “I am too tired for that” but if you get yourself some help it will take no time. Once baby arrives meals will be a lot easier. Just grab one of the frozen meals and pop it in the oven and dinner will be ready before you know it.

You would think having had my second kid I would have done this myself. I didn’t and really wish I had. Tobei and I were so tired from keeping up with baby and Big Brother that for the first 2 weeks I think we ordered take out for dinner every single day. Not exactly the healthiest choice and really bad on the bank account when we are a one income family and that income earner is on parental leave for the next 8 months so we are not getting the full pay cheque.
