See this woman. The one right there to the left. That was me today. OMG nightmares! The headaches! The Stress!
I woke up today and when I finally got on the computer at 9:30 and went to load my site there was no site. Nothing! “Error establishing database connection” it tells me. So I do what you should do. I get on live chat with BlueHost. Within minutes they tell me the server I am on has crashed, they don’t know why but someone is working on it. They estimate an hour.
An hour passes and nothing. Back to live chat I go. I spend an hour on live chat well the idiot asks me all kinds of random questions and basically blaming me that my site is down. I must have done something to break it. After sitting at my computer for an hour typing “something” in to chat every 3 minutes (I was told to type something every 3-4 minutes so that our chat would not time out) he finally gives me an answer. You ready for it? “Well ma’am it seems there is something wrong with the servers however a technician is working on it. Seriously!! I had to wait an hour for you to tell me something the last rep told me in seconds.
It is finally 3 in the afternoon and I still have no website. This time I call tech support on the phone so I am not glued to my computer. Minutes later I am told servers are still down. They keep patching them but the patch keeps failing.
Now it’s 6:30 in the evening. Get on live chat support and I get the rudest piece of S%*t you can ask for. Our chat was short and I would say sweet but I would be lying. I was basically told “They will be up when they are up”. I will admit I was bitchy with how I phrased my questions to him but can you really blame me? They don’t even utilize their twitter account to keep customers updated on what is going on. The server status was saying servers were fine. We were left with nothing while BlueHost decided that communicating with it’s customers and being proactive was not something on their customer service list.
At 9pm I called back. I got someone who was actually kind and explained to me why they kept going down, what they were trying to get it fixed and he apologized many times. When I told him I was considering going elsewhere when it was time to renew he let me know I did not have to wait. I am not locked in and can move if I want and will get a refund on the time left. I thanked him for all the information and let him go.
It is now 10:15pm and here I am posting. My site came back up at 10pm. I was shocked to see it actually load. I have so much catching up to do and so much I had to do today that I want to cry. I wasted my day dealing with BlueHost and being super pissed at shitty customer service. I mean really. Is it that difficult to utilize your twitter account BlueHost?
