Canada day has arrived. It has been a strange day for me since moving from my home town. I grew up in Ottawa which is the capital of Canada. The best place to be on Canada Day is Parliament Hill. People travel from every corner of our country to be on “the hill” and celebrate with thousands of other Canadians. Since moving I have not been able to find the perfect spot to be. I have spent it downtown in the city we live in for the past 2 years and it is not the same. I don’t think anything will ever compare to it. This is a picture that represents spending Canada Day in Ottawa. It brings back such wonderful memories for me.
Today we are going to a neighbour’s house for a BBQ then we will probably walk over to a really nice spot near our house where we can see the fireworks that the city puts on. Hopefully Little Man will stay up for it all. Let’s hope he actually naps today.
Before you go take a moment to watch this video and hear our National Anthem. I couldn’t find a version of the anthem with pictures that I liked so Tobei took a video and an MP3 that I liked and put them together to make this video, which I love. Thank you Tobei.

If the video is not working you can watch it directly on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQtnrP3anf0. It will take a few seconds to load but it does work. Guess youtube is busy today.
How do you plan on spending Canada Day? What are your favorite memories of Canada Day from your childhood? I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful day.
Once you are done celebrating with friends and family stop by the Canada Day Blog Party. A great chance to meet other Canadian Bloggers.
