Well my lord have I had enough already. Little Brother really needs to be able to catch a break.
First we had the missing fingertip incident. An update on that, he is doing great. It is amazing how great of a job it has done growing back. We had our 3rd follow up with the plastic surgeon last week and have basically been given the all clear. We go back in 6 months for a check up. Her one main concern was how his nail would grow back and it seems to be doing well. We just now need to keep his finger moisturized to help with the skin growth.
Well then Little Brother ended up with croup. I was so scared when I woke up that morning that I called Tobei at work and made him come rushing home with the car. We went to CHEO and found out that it was croup. They gave him some steroids to help with it all and sent us on our way.
Wouldn’t you know we ended up back at CHEO that night. Little Brother had pure water poop and we were now on day 3 and had a rash so bad that it was bleeding. Mommy was now worried. Doctors said he was not dehydrated and to bring him home and give him pedialyte. They did take a swab and said if we needed medication they would call us and let us know. We never did hear from them. They did tell us if at day 5 he was still not getting better to bring him back in. Day 5 came and we were doing much better so just kept up home care. Come day 7 we had normal poops and the rash was gone thanks to some amazing rash cream.
Oh yes I failed to mention Little Brother was also due for his 1 year check up and immunization. Well I cancelled that appointment to reschedule once my baby was healthy.
So here we were thinking we were in the clear now. I was all ready to pull on the calendar and schedule his immunization appointment. Well his body had another plan. We wake up today and my poor little baby has pink eye. You have got to be kidding me. So off to the doctor we went today and he now has eye drops that we have to give him 4 times a day for the next 5 days. It took much power of mommy and daddy to restrain our poor baby and get those drops in his eyes. I have no clue how I will do it solo. So for tomorrow I got a friend coming for morning drops and Tobei coming home to administer lunch time drops. My friend says she will teach me how to solo do it. Let’s hope it works.
So that is my story of my child who is giving me a run for my money and making me thankful I live in Canada where I can see a doctor without worrying about how I will pay them.
Can my poor little baby just be healthy already. And can this darn cold we are passing around the family just go away already. I would love to enjoy time as a healthy family.
