I have never really considered myself a creative person. Arts and Crafts were never my thing. When I found out Collective Bias was issuing a Pinterest challenge I decided what the heck, let’s try it out. I hopped on over to their pinterest boards and found something I figured would be easy enough for this crafty challenged person. A personalized water bottle.
The craft I found was actually a DIY Monogrammed water bottle. Sounds easy to me. Buy a bottle, put a sticker on it and ta-da done. I called up my best friend and we headed on over to Wal-Mart.
First thing we did was head over to the back to school section where we quickly found the perfect water bottle. So perfect that not only did I buy one but it ends up it is the one her daughter has been asking for as well.
Water bottle checked off my shopping list. Time to find some stickers to decorate it with. Where would I find those? Thankfully my friend is smarter than I am and pointed me towards the crafts section. Talk about overload. I should have taken a picture of the look on my face. I was seconds from curling up in a ball and crying. We did come across the stickers I was looking for. The vinyl ones. Those should stick and be user friendly for multiple uses. But there was so many of them.
I am not lying to you. I stood there for like 20 minutes to find the perfect stickers for my little boys personalized water bottle. If I was going to do this I was going to do it right and make him proud. I found my perfect stickers, hit up the cash and headed home.
First things first, I got his name on the bottle. Surprised myself by actually getting them on in a straight line. 1 point for mommy. Next up was the sayings. I took my time and strategically placed them around the bottle. I did not want it crowded and wanted it to look nice. Something Big Brother would be proud of and happy to call his very own.
I think I did a great job. What do you think? Big Brother loves it and has been using his new personalized water bottle every day since. I think I need to attack some more pinterest crafts and get my craft on. I really enjoyed it. The sky is the limit.
Have you recreated something you found on pinterest? How did it turn out? See more photos from my challenge over on to my google+ album.
