Dear Parents,
I have a bone to pick with you. Children get sick and we all know this. At this time of year the cold is running around like crazy in workplaces and schools. I know this may sound silly or like a crazy idea but I think it may work. If you or your child is sick, STAY HOME.
Thanks to you sending your child to school sick, my entire house is sick and has been for almost a week. It started with Big Brother, we had to keep him home from swimming class last week as he was in such bad shape. You know the swimming lessons that cost me $120. He is still sick which means he will miss tomorrows class as well. This means I have wasted $120 because he will probably not pass the class. Oh and he has also missed school since I don’t send my kid to school when he is sick. Thankfully it is only kindergarten and it is optional where I live I don’t have to worry too much about missed classes.
Then Tobei got sick. Considering he is the one who does the most around this house that was really not cool. Lucky for us he is on parental leave so we didn’t have to worry about him trekking 45 minutes one way to the only doctor his work lets him see to get a sick chit to get time off work.
Then I got sick. Totally not cool. I am a huge baby and really moody when sick. I got no patience for anything.
Then the kicker and what gets me really mad. My 3 month old baby is now sick. The poor little guy is all congested and getting really crappy broken sleep. The only place he will sleep is in our arms or his swing. This means no sleep for us as one of us has to stay up all night with him and attempt broken sleep on the couch. Leather couches were not made for sleeping on by the way.
We brought the kids to the doctor today and Big Brother is in rough shape. He is doing better today than yesterday. However if he is worse tomorrow we have to bring him back for antibiotics.
Oh and the baby, you know the just turned 3 month old baby. Yeah we can’t give him any meds and if he gets any worse or gets a fever we are to bring him straight to the hospital. Isn’t that just lovely? All that because some parents like to send their kids to school sick.
Trust me I hear you. You can’t take time off work, but that is not my problem. Figure it out and deal with it. Don’t send your child to school to get mine sick which means bringing it home to my poor defenseless baby.
No one likes a sick kid and everyone complains that when a child goes to school they seem to get sick all the time. I bet this would be less of a problem if people started keeping their sick kids home.
Thanks you for your time and understanding,
Nolie
