The lovely Cass over at Casa Di Cass usually hosts 2nd Look Saturday. Today I am hosting it for her though as she is off frolicking in Colorado.

To participate in 2nd Look Saturday just choose a blog from the past that you want to share again with your readers, grab the 2nd Look Saturday button (which I have stolen the button and the entire code from her site so that you can link back to her) and link up below. Sorry that the text box to grab the code is so wide and looks so ugly. It’s coded proper and looks proper in my editing window but once published it looks like this.
I chose this post for today because as I am sure we are all aware today is 9/11. I know there will be many moving and heart felt tributes through out the media to remember all those who lost their lives on this day 9 years ago. However I am also almost positive that the media will show images that none of us want to remember, especially those who lost their loved ones on that day.
Dear Media

Why must you be a bunch of insensitive bastards? I am fed up of your reporters missing a soul and having no respect to family members involved in your stories. Today’s rant is courtesy of me waking up today to a report that a suicide bomber had killed soldiers and civilians in Kabul. At the time the military was not releasing the name of the Canadian soldier killed as next of kin had not been notified. Could the media not had waited until they had? I understand your job is to publish the story and to do it as soon as possible. However what you succeeded in doing by not waiting 2 flipping hours was have every person who has a loved one overseas on pins and needles waiting for their phone to ring. Wondering if it was their loved one that we had lost. It is heart breaking already every single time a soldier is lost. It is even more so when every single family member at home is on edge wondering.
Then their are the stories where the media in their hunger to include a picture again loses their soul and posts pictures of bodies. Those bodies have loved ones. Do you think they really want to see their loved one plastered all over the media like that? Do you really think that is how they want to remember their loved ones? I don’t think so.
So to the media. I HATE YOU! There you have it. I said it.
While I am on my rant about the media I would also like to rant about those who comment on articles. Many of you commenters again have no soul and are little bitches hiding behind your computer screen and the freedom of speech act. Just like the media you do not care how what you say can affect those involved. I have had first hand experience dealing with these insensitive bastards. Though my name was not in the article it was I they were talking about with their insensitive nasty comments. Here I was having to deal with something very difficult and having to be the better person and just walk away from the nasty hurtful words that anonymous people were saying.
Let me apologize for the adult language in this post, I know it could have all been said better, however this is from the heart and right now I am mad. Thanks for reading.
