Dear Daylight Savings Time,
Why do you insist on coming around twice a year? In my 30 some years of time on this planet I have yet to understand the true purpose of you besides to fuck with parents all over. I dread you every single time you stick your head around the corner.
My kids live on a strict schedule and anything outside their schedule causes havoc in our house. I currently sit here and type this blog post as I listen to my children upstairs to wired from their schedule change to actually sleep.
Today we had dinner at 4:00pm. Typical dinner time is 5:00 so that meant thanks to the clocks “falling back” my children were hungry before they should have been according to the time.
Right now it is 7:30, typical bedtime but an hour past what they are used to. My kids don’t do tired, they do over active. Needless to say, this momma is not happy.
I can tell you right now how tomorrow will go. Where one thinks their kids will be up early because of the time change my children will sleep in because they will be up half the night.
The school will probably end up sending a note home for my youngest about making red choices instead of green choices. They will be cranky as hell after school and I will be shocked if I have any hair left come dinner let alone bed time.
Have I mentioned I hate you? Please for the love of parents everywhere just stop coming around. There is no real need for you in my opinion.
