When Tobei bought me my iPhone 4 instead of selling my iPhone 3gs we gave it to Little Man for Christmas. He loves his iPhone and it has saved us many headaches on long car rides and waiting on doctor appointments. Before you ask no it was no longer activated. We used it as an iPod.
When it was time to move last month the last thing I wanted was for the movers to lose Little Man’s phone so I put it in our suitcase. We got to the first hotel and I went to charge it but all our chargers were in use. This was the last time I saw his iPhone.
When we arrived at the new house it was not in the suitcases and not in my purse. Here I was wanting to make sure it was not lost and I of all people lost it. I called both hotels that we stayed in and neither of them had it in the lost and found. Little Man eventually stopped asking for it and started playing with Tobei’s iPad instead. Not ideal but it worked.
Today another blogging friend of mine had an iPhone 3g for sale. I jumped at the chance to buy it. However before I spent $75 to replace the iPhone I lost on my son I wanted to check the house one last time. Tobei and I started tearing apart the house. Even pulled out couch cushions and moved furniture around. It was not going to be found.
Then I saw the camera bag. I checked it last week and knew the iPhone was not in there but I decided to check again. I mean why not? It was right in front of me and would only take a couple of seconds. I unclipped the flap and flipped it back to look inside the bag. I noticed the flap felt like it had weight in it. It was in that moment that I discovered the flap had a zipper compartment that was cleverly hidden by another piece of material.
Can you guess why the flap felt like it had weight in it? You guessed it…. There was Little Mans iPhone. I guess I had discovered the compartment before or maybe it was Tobei. Who cares! All that matters is we found his iPhone before I spent money to replace it. I am going to have one happy little boy in the morning.
