December 16th 1981 at 4:17 pm I was born to my wonderful parents. I have been lucky to have amazing parents who love me very much and have always done their best to make sure I am happy and they have spoiled me. You couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor man who would end up with me. Then along came Tobei and he actually enjoys making it his mission to make me happy and always bring a smile to my face. On special days he goes out of his way to make them days I will remember forever. My birthday was no exception.
He had to work on my birthday this year so the night before he let me have my birthday gift from him and Little Man. I have been coveting a flip camera forever. I try to win one every chance I get but have not succeeded. All the bloggers rave about them. As of my birthday I am the owner of one thanks to Tobei and Little Man. I was ecstatic to receive it. Tobei sure knows how to pick a great gift. Sadly one thing all the blog reviews I read left out was that the Ultra HD flip does not have a battery indicator on the screen so you can know the battery life. This is a must for me so I will be returning my flip to find a new camera. I am going to make sure to do more shopping then just reading reviews this time though. Score hundreds of points for Tobei and Little Man and score -100 for Nolie for not doing her homework 100%.
The day of my birthday Tobei told me I would be getting a something delivered. I didn’t want to miss the delivery so a friend of mine drove Little Man to school for me so I wouldn’t have to walk him and miss the delivery. The delivery ended up coming at lunch time when Tobei was home. I got roses!!! I could not believe it. Not only did I get roses but I found out from Tobei that the flower shop let him and Little Man pick them out. Little Man picked out every single rose. They are perfect!
Growing up my mom always made me my favorite dinner for my birthday. Steak, potatoes and cream corn. I asked Tobei if he could make me it this year and he happily went to the grocery store to purchase everything. When dinner was over he surprised me with cake and balloons. He brought out the cake and I was ready to smack him. I actually asked him for a fire extinguisher. As you can see from the picture it was a tiny cake with TWENTY NINE candles in it. You should have seen all the smoke after Little Man helped me blow them out. I am surprised the smoke detectors didn’t go off.
Saturday night we got a sitter and went out for dinner, pool and dancing with some great friends. When I called to make reservations the dining room was full so I told them to reserve a spot in the lodge for us. We had couches right beside the fireplace and it was actually really nice. Didn’t take us any time at all to figure out how to eat our meals. We all have laps and managed to not wear our food. The waitress was fantastic. I ordered deep-fried cheesecake for desert and she brought it out with a candle and told me Happy Birthday as it was overheard from us about it being my birthday. She then hovered near by but didn’t bother us unless we were looking for her as we sat around for a while just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere. When we asked for the bill there was no cheesecake on it. My cheesecake was paid for. I seriously loved our waitress. We had her again serving our table when we went back for the dancing and she was amazing and took care of us. I could not have asked for a better waitress.
We also played some pool between dinner and dancing. Though I guess I should say everyone else did and I hung out. Pool is not my thing but I have no problem socializing. Was a fantastic night with amazing friends. I could not have asked for a better night to celebrate. To top it all off it was the first time Tobei and I have gone to a bar together as he usually watches Little Man while just the girls go out. We will be making sure to get a sitter and go out together more often. I loved having him at the bar with me.
To everyone who celebrated with us… thank you. Even with a moody waitress by the pool tables it was still a fantastic night. I could not ask for better friends.
