Well the past week was a busy one to put it mildly. That evil virus called the common cold attacked our house just in time for a busy week-end.
Little Brother turned 1 which meant it was time for his first hair cut and to stop looking like a girl. Ok maybe he didn’t look like a girl but mommy doesn’t do longish hair on boys.
Ready for his first hair cut.
This hair cut place we found was AMAZING. Not only did they have cool “chairs” for the kids to sit in but there was also a TV at each station and Little Brother got to watch The Wiggles while getting his hair cut. He did so awesome and was such a great boy. I may be biased but I think he looked pretty darn cute with his new hair cut.
Checking himself out in the mirror.
Now that he was already to party with his cute hair cut we started to get ready for the birthday party. Mommy ran around like a chicken with her head cut off getting decorations, food and cake. We had a kid allergic to chocolate attending so decided to get vanilla cake with a custard filling (Sorry no pics). It worked out as Little Brother LOVED his cake.
Cake Face!
It was great to get to see family and friends that we don’t see that often. Wish I could have spent more time with everyone but you know how it is. Mommy never gets a break
Party ended and we headed home to relax before the next day brought on more festivities as Little Brother has his baptism.
Ready to go to church.
The baptism went off overall pretty well. However we had a few hiccups. When it was time to present Little Brother for baptism I announced “I present Big Brother for baptism”. OOPS! Little bit of nerves there. The priest looked at me repeated what I said to me and then I proceeded to present the proper child.
Just as the baptism portion of the service ended our oldest son (Tobei’s son who doesn’t live with us) came and told me Big Brother had puked. I ran to the bathroom and found my poor kid with another member of our church who was cleaning up his puke. Instead of sending him back to Sunday school with the rest of the kids I brought him back to church with me to sit and relax.
After the service it was time for cake and coffee with the congregation. More yummy vanilla cake with custard filling. Big Brother seemed to be feeling better so we let him have cake. Later that night he ended up puking again. I thought maybe it was the custard filling as he does have a minor egg allergy but then both baby and I ended up with a bug come Monday. Thankfully no more puking but I sure felt like it myself.
Oh yes I mentioned a back injury didn’t I. Well as we were leaving church Tobei went to hand Little Brother to someone. I guess he twisted the wrong way as he ended up injuring his back. Thankfully I now have my licence so was able to drive us home. He was in so much pain all Sunday. He couldn’t even finish a complete sentence without pausing for pain. First thing Monday morning we were off to his doctor. They think it is the muscle and have put him on light duties at work for the next 2 weeks.
We all seem to be doing better now. I still have a cough as does Big Brother. Tobei’s back is slowly getting better day by day. It was a crazy week-end but we made it through. Now we can hopefully kick back and relax until the fun of Christmas begins.
