Atheism definition according to wikipedia: Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.
Tobei is an Athiest, I am Anglican. Religion can be a hot topic in many relationships but for us we have had many talks and have come to an agreement. We have baptized the children and we do attend church every now and then. He accepts that this is what I want for me and the children and we will be raising the children with guidance and basic principles of religion. I will never forced anyone in the family to go to church if they do not want to. This doesn’t work for all families but it works for ours.
As mentioned before Tobei and I are currently planning our wedding. We have decided to get married in the church. With this decision came the necessity to attend a marriage preperation course ran by the church. We just got home from that. I would not call it a total waste of time however we have already attended a very similar course that was ran by the military. Anyways not the point of this post.
The last talk of the day was what is a Christian marriage. When our guest speaker got up to introduce herself Tobei and I were left sitting with our mouths open. The priest told us how when she got married her husband wanted a church wedding. She figured why not, it was one of the largest Cathedrals in Canada and this is what her husband wants. Afterall it would make for amazing pictures.
You see the priest speaking to us today was actually an athiest when she got married. WHAT THE !!!!! I know people can change. People can find God. I NEVER thought I would meet an athiest who would go on to become a priest.
So I guess on can go from Atheism to full fledged religious. It was shown to us today.
