When Tobei and I moved in together he had a really old washer and dryer. I mean they were like ancient. I spent a year trying to convince him to buy one of the fancy front loader washer and dryers and kept losing my argument. Finally just before Christmas my mom was up visiting and declared that our washer and dryer were quickly making their way to appliance heaven. I had finally won. I was going to get my front loader.
What I didn’t know at the time was all the rules, tips and tricks when it came to owning one. I learned from a “got to love warranties” lesson and am here to save you the trouble. Doesn’t matter if it is Bosch washing machines or another brand. The tips apply across the board.
Tip #1
Use HE (high efficiency) detergent. We started off using non HE detergent. Switched to HE when we found out that the non HE was actually bad for the machine and could void our warranty.
Tip #2
Leave the door open a crack on the washing machine when you are done. If you don’t you could end up with a gross smell coming from the machine. We learned this first hand.
Tip #3
Wash all kids socks together in a laundry bag. Otherwise they can get stuck between the rubber pieces and cause major problems. This is what happened to us and we ended up with a mini flood and water all inside the machine where it shouldn’t be. Thankfully we were still under warranties.
Those are my top 3 tips. Don’t let my tips turn you away. Even Tobei is happy that I finally won and we have front loaders. They are amazing machines, great for electricity/water usage and are very quiet. Bonus! You don’t get the whole unbalanced dance going on with a front loader on spin cycle.
